Heirloom Portraits of your Children
by artist Heidi Knight
"Heidi exceeded all my expectations. She beautifully captured my children's portraits, bringing out their unique personalities."
— Liz L
Childhood has a way of changing before we notice.
The little expressions, missing teeth, favorite outfits, endless curiosity, and unmistakable personalities that fill our days today eventually become cherished memories.
A commissioned children's portrait preserves more than a likeness.
It preserves a season.
Created with thoughtful planning and artistic intention, each artwork is designed to celebrate exactly who your child is right now. The details you never want to forget. The expressions that make them unique.
These portraits often become among the most meaningful pieces in a family home because they continue to tell a story long after childhood has passed.
Years from now, when childhood feels far away, the artwork remains.
A reminder of a time that passed quickly and mattered deeply.
Because while children grow and change, the love we have for them never does.
Heidi creates commissioned Bridal and Debutante portraits for clients throughout Texas, including Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth.
"I wanted something more meaningful than school photos or snapshots on my phone. What Heidi created of my daughter is breathtaking. She's eight years old right now and someday she'll understand what a gift it is to have this piece of her childhood preserved this way."
— Michelle K.
Why Parents Commission Children's Artwork
Many of the families I work with tell me the same thing.
They finally realized they were waiting for the perfect time.
The perfect age.
The perfect schedule.
The perfect season.
Then they looked back and realized childhood had already changed.
Commissioned artwork is not about creating perfection.
It is about preserving what is already meaningful.

How A Heidi Knight Original Is Created
More than a portrait — original artwork made for your home.
Every children's portrait piece begins with a conversation about your child, your home, and the moment you want to preserve. From there, Heidi plans the session with the finished artwork in mind: light, mood, composition, and the details that make your child uniquely themselves.
The final piece is created through Heidi's signature mixed media process: photographed, digitally painted, printed on archival canvas, and finished entirely by hand with acrylics and oils. The result has the true likeness of a photograph and the depth and presence of fine art.
Custom framing and installation are included. Each piece is designed for the specific wall space it will occupy in your home.
Because while children grow and change, the love you have for them never does.
