A Heidi Knight Original combines a true photographic likeness with the depth, texture, and presence of fine art.
Each commissioned portrait is created as a mixed-media work on archival canvas and hand-finished in oils and acrylics. No two are alike.

When it is yours
There is something different about seeing someone you love become the subject of an original work of art.
You recognize them immediately, but now there is scale, texture, depth, and presence. It isn't simply another image of them. It is artwork that exists because they do.
And there isn't another one anywhere.
The portrait decides
Not every portrait should be the same size.

Heidi accepts only six commissioned Originals each year. Each is a significant commission, and each receives the time that a work of art deserves"
The Artist
Long before I created Originals for clients, I created artwork of my own family for our home.
As a mother, I know how quickly childhood changes. I wanted more than photographs stored away somewhere. I wanted artwork of the people I love where I could see and enjoy it every day.
That desire for my own family became the foundation of the work I create today.
Most of the families I work with come back for a second piece, and then a third. Their homes become galleries of the people they love. I would be honored to create your first.
