Heidi’s signature commission blends photography, digital painting, archival printing, and hand-applied acrylic and oils into one completely original work of art. Each piece is individually created and hand-finished for collectors seeking a fine art piece that is truly one-of-a-kind.
The portrait decides
I photograph it, I design it, and I finish it in my Wimberley studio. Families often ask me how large a piece should be, and my answer is that the portrait decides. Some images need scale to carry the presence of the person in them. Others are quiet, and scale would ruin them. What I will not do is shrink a piece to accommodate a sofa, because rooms change and the artwork is meant to outlast them.
Made for the person, not the house
A piece made to fit one house is furniture. This is not that. Your family will move, renovate, repaint, and eventually pass this along to someone who lives somewhere you have never seen, and it will still be the right piece, because it was built around the people in it rather than the address they had the year it was made.
The scale a commission can reach
Originals begin at 16x20 for a single child, head and shoulders. From there a commission can grow to 60, 80, and even 100” in length, span multiple panels, or be printed on Italian leather rather than canvas for a surface with an entirely different weight and depth. Investment follows the scope of the artwork, the number of people in it, framing, and any companion pieces created alongside the main work.

The Artist behind the Artwork
Long before I created artwork for clients, I created it for my own home.
As a mother, I understand how quickly childhood changes and how easily photographs disappear into phones, computers, and hard drives. I wanted something more lasting. Something I could enjoy every day.
That desire for my own family eventually became the foundation of my work.
Today, I create original portrait artwork for families who want more than a photograph. They want original artwork that celebrates the people they love most and becomes part of their legacy.

Additional Ways to Work With the Studio
Not every family is looking for a hand-finished mixed media Original. Heidi also offers two photographic collections for clients who want a beautifully finished archival canvas in her classic portrait style.
The Heirloom Collection is created in the studio around one person and begins at $1,495. The Portrait Collection offers greater flexibility for families, multiple subjects, and location work and begins at $2,995.
